EWER resides in Brussels, Belgium, where he constantly draws inspiration for street art, a source of vibrant energy for the artist. EWER has been passionate about graffiti since his teenage years: eager for sensation, and not really wondering why he did it, the pleasure of painting was enough. He created his first piece over 15 years ago.
In an elaborate and calligraphic abstraction, EWER gives free rein to his imagination proposing an original and uncompromising work where eroticism is very present. His influences are varied: futurists, dadaists, rebellious realism, pop-art which he often used in the motifs on his stencils. His technique is based on printed and scanned photographic backgrounds on which he intervenes in the form of tag and graffiti with unique styles using aerosol paint, acrylic and “Posca." He also sometimes paints stencils with very original graphics. He owes his mastery of composition and color, as well as the use and repetition of words, to his past as a graffiti artist. |
